John Lorimer has been working in the property industry since the early 80’s. He originally started in the residential sector, building up a central London residential agency and subsequently selling it in 1988 to a financial services group.

John then joined the Old Park Lane group, a commercial property investment and development company with assets of c.£60m, becoming a director of the group in 1992. In 1995, John carried out a disposal of the assets within the group and in 1996 set up his own vehicle, New Park Lane Ltd.

Since then he has worked closely with Derek Lucie-Smith on various projects as a principal and asset manager. John was Derek’s partner in the successful Hotel pre-development site assembly and sale in Glasgow and also completed a joint venture redevelopment of the Armani store in King Street, Manchester with Chesterfield Properties Plc,  where Robert Maxted was Chief Executive.

Latterly he has been involved as a principal and asset manager in two substantial joint ventures with Portfolio Holdings, who have £1 billion of property under management. John is a founder director of Parkwood Asset Management.
